Our projects focus on creating lasting, sustainable changes in our communities that address the barriers to food access, food security and growth in the agriculture sector.

 

Our projects:

 

Farm to Families CSA

We partner with community agencies and area farms to subsidize the cost of Community Supported Agriculture shares. This program gets fresh, nutritious, locally-produced food into the hands of families who need it hte most.

 

Conscious Heat

We partner with educational pipelines to process hot peppers into value-added products. Combined with J.Q. Dickinson salt, this niche-market is marketed through existing West Virginia agri-tourism efforts. Proceeds from this partnership fund more CSA shares through the Farm to Families CSA program.

 

FIRSTHAND 50/50

We partner with FIRSTHAND Coffee Cooperative and educational pipelines create this flavorful, value-added product. Espresso beans are roasted, ground and combined with J.Q. Dickinson salt, this niche-market product is marketed through existing West Virginia agri-tourism efforts. Proceeds from this partnership fund more CSA shares through the Farm to Families CSA program.

 

Chef Connection

We connect local chefs with partner agencies to host cooking demonstrations and share their skill set. We help chef’s offset their fuel costs through this program.
